About the NNPC/Total Scholarship

Each year, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and TotalEnergies Upstream Companies in Nigeria (TUCN): TotalEnergies Exploration & Production Nigeria Limited (Total E&P Nigeria Limited) along with TotalEnergies Upstream Nigeria Limited (TUPNI), together with their venture partners, offer scholarships to deserving Nigerian students studying at higher education institutions of the country.

Scholarship Benefits

The NNPC/Total Scholarship is a fully-funded award for students at the undergraduate level. Winners will be awarded the sum of NGN 150,000 annually to pay for expenses for accommodation, tuition and book allowances, among others.

NNPC/Total Scholarship Requirements

To be eligible to be considered, the applicant must:

  1. You must be a registered FULL-TIME student at an accredited Nigerian University
  2. Have a certificate of 200 or 100 level pupil at the time of applying
  3. Provide evidence of SSCE or an equivalent certificate.
  4. You must provide evidence that you have your Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) score.
  5. Present proof of admission Letter from the University as well as Matriculation Number.
  6. Provide proof of an A-level or equivalent certificate (for directly enrolled students).

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Students with less than 200 marks in UTME are not required to apply.
  • Students who have a lower than 2.50 CGPA on a 5-point scale or equivalent
  • Students who are at 300 or above 300 level need not apply.
  • The current recipients who have received a similar award from another Company and Government Agency need not apply.

How to Apply for NNPC/Total Scholarship

1. Personal Information: Enter your name, birth date and permanent address. Upload a recent passport picture.

2. Contact Information: Enter your email address and mobile phone number. Use only an active email address and mobile number.

3. Origin: Input your State and the local government of your origin. You must submit a document or certificate of origin to your local authority or the state.

4. University Information: Choose your institution, the course you are taking, and the year you are studying. You’ll be required to upload your JAMBU/University application letter.

5. Results Information: Enter the details of your JAMB scores or CPGA. You must upload your JAMB report of results and university CPGA. You can upload your JAMB score enough for medical students entering year two.

6. Review Application: Go through your application and ensure that the fields are correctly filled in. All the required documents are uploaded:

  • Recent Passport Photograph
  • Certificate or proof of origin
  • Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (SSCE)
  • UTME result
  • The JAMB/University Admission Letter
  • 1st Year Test Results with CGPA

8. Finally: Assert that the information provided is accurate. Accept the terms and conditions. A screen-based alert will indicate that you’ve filled out the online application. You will receive an email confirmation of that too.

NNPC/Total Scholarship Exam Requirements

The NNPC/TotalEnergies Scholarship test will take place on Saturday, January 22, at 8 am at the different test centers.

The process of shortlisting candidates for the test is done via the email address associated with your application for a scholarship.

This is the required information to take the NNPC/Total Scholarship exam;

  • Your Student ID at the University Card (Not a Library Card)
  • A version of your invitation was delivered to your email address
  • Writing Materials – Biro, Pencil, Sharpener & Eraser

NOTE: Mobile phones, wrist watches, calculators and watches are not permitted in the venue for examinations.

Note

  • Candidates shall bear the total cost of transportation to and from the selection test venue.
  • Candidates are therefore advised to choose test centres closest to them.
  • Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the selection test.

NNPC/Total Scholarship Winners

If you took the scholarship test, Remember that your performance doesn’t influence the selection process. If you are worthy of the scholarship, you will be selected.

Usually, the list of recipients of the scholarships is announced in the national newspapers and through the official site.

Furthermore, successful applicants will be contacted through an email address. Hard copies will be distributed through The office of the Dean of Students Affairs of their Institution.

NNPC/Total Scholarship Deadline

The Total Scholarship application opens on Wednesday, October 27, and will close on November 20. Selection tests will take place on January 22 in designated national centers. The test has been delayed until further notice only for those who have been shortlisted.

Notice this scholarship application has not yet available for 2022.
